The magnification of image (m)=5
The radius of curvature (r)=40 cm
The focal length (f)=r2=402=20 cm
Let the object distance be u
and the image distance be v

We know,
m=vu5=vuv=5uv=5u

Using mirror formula,
1f=1v+1u120=15u+1u120=15u+1u×55120=45uu=45×(20)u=16 cm
The distance of object from the mirror is 16 cm.
