An ion is reduced to the element when it absorbs 6×1020 electrons. the number of equivalents of the ion is:

1.12 litre of Hydrogen is displaced by metal =1.2g
So, 22.4 L of Hydrogen is displaced by metal =(1.2g1.12)×(22.4)
=(12×224)112=24g
Hence Equivalent Mass of the metal is 24.
Let Mass of the metal=xg
Mass of the metal oxide =1.24x
Mass of oxygen combining with metal=1.24xx=0.24x
Now 0.24x g of Oxygen combines with metal=xg
So, 8 g of Oxygen will combine with metal=(x0.24x)×8=80.24=80024=33.33
Hence Equivalent Mass of the metal is 33.33
Mass of an atom=At.MassAvogadrosNumber=(Valency×Eq.Mass)N
=(31.82×2)N=63.64(6.023×1023)
=0.001
