An iron nail is immersed in a solution of copper sulphate of copper sulphate and when it is removed from the solution, it is coated with a layer of copper metal. After that a different iron nail is immersed in a solution of zinc nitrate and removed, this nail rusted just as rapidly as a new iron nail.
