  • Iron is a good conductor of electricity. So, charge obtained on rubbing is transferred to the other substance with which it is rubbed and it no longer stores charge on it.
  • But, plastic is a poor conductor of electricity.So, charge obtained on rubbing cannot transfer to the other substance with which it is rubbed and it retains charge on it.
