The correct option is A y=5 cm
Before explosion, particle was moving along x - axis, i.e, it has no y - component of velocity.
Therefore, the centre of mass will not move in y-direction or we can say Δycom=0.
Now, Δycom=m1y1+m2y2m1+m2
Therefore, 0=(m4)(+15)+(3m4)(y)(m4+3m4)
y=5 cm
