AN OBJECT 5 CMIN LENGTH IS HELD 25 CM AWAY FROM A CONVERGE LENS OF FOCAL LENGTH 10 CM. DRAW THE RAY DIAGRAM & FIND THE POSITION ,SIZE &THE NATURE OF IMAGE FORMED?

Given,
f = 10 cm
u = -25 cm
v = ?
h₀ = 5 cm
using lens formula,
$$\begin{gathered} \frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}=\frac{1}{f} \\ \Rightarrow \frac{1}{v}=\frac{3}{50} \\ \Rightarrow v=16.66 \end{gathered}$$

also,
$$\begin{gathered} \frac{h_i}{h_0}=-\frac{v}{u} \\ \Rightarrow \frac{h_i}{5}=-\frac{16.66}{-25} \\ \Rightarrow h_i=3.33 \end{gathered}$$

The image is real, inverted and smaller in size.
