Initial velocity $u = 0$ acceleration $a = 1 m s^{- 2}$
Time interval t = 4 seconds
Distance travelled = $s = u t + \frac{1}{2} a t^{2}$
$s = 0 \times 4 + \frac{1}{2} \times 1 \times 4^{2}$
$= 0 + \frac{1}{2} \times 1 \times 16$
$= 8 m$ .
