The correct option is C36cm Given: u=−40cm;f=−15cm
Using mirror formula,
1f=1u+1v⇒v=ufu−f
Substituting the values we get,
v=(−40)(−15)(−40)−(−15)=−24cm
On displacement of the object towards the mirror, u′=20−40=−20cm
∴v′=u′fu′−f=(−20)(−15)(−20)−(−15)=−60cm
∴ Distance by which image is displaced : Δv=|(−60)−(−24)|=36cm
