An object is placed at the centre of curvature of a concave mirror. The focal length of the mirror is 20cm. A plane mirror is placed on the left of the object as shown in the figure. Considering the image formed by the plane mirror as the object for the concave mirror, where will the new image be formed?
Between f and C
The object OC is placed at C. Image O'C' formed by the plane mirror of the object will lie on the left side of the object OC, i.e., further away from the concave mirror.
The new object O'C' will be beyond C.
The image formed by the concave mirror for an object placed beyond C will be between f and C as O'C' is beyond C. This is depicted in the ray diagram shown.
