Given:

D=30 cm
f=10 cm

Maximum angular magnification is achieved, when the image is formed at the distance of distinct vision i.e. the near point.

v=D=30 cm

Using lens formula,

1f=1v1u

110=1(30)1u

u=7.5 cm

Therefore, the object should be placed at 7.5 cm from the lens.

Hence, option (B) is the correct answer.
