The correct option is C 2.5 km

We know that total displacement is the straight line distance between the final and initial position.
So, from the figure, we can say that AF represents the total displacement of the object.
AF=AM2+MF2
By using the above figure
AM=31.5+0.5=2 km
MF=1+0.5=1.5 km
AF=22+1.52=2.5 km
