Distance of image behind the plane mirror from the surface of mirror is equal to the distance of object in front of the plane mirror from the surface of the plane mirror.

Distance of object in front of the plane mirror = 8 m

Distance of image behind the plane mirror = 8 m

Distance between object and its image = 8 m + 8 m = 16 m
