Question

An object of height 2 cm is placed at a distance of 15 CM in front of concave lens of power -100 . Find the size of the image

Open in App
Solution

Here,
h = 2 cm
u = – 15 cm
Also,
Power of the lens = – 10 D.
Therefore, Focal length = – 100/10 cm
➡ – 10 cm.
Now, using lens formula, we get
➡ –1/10 = 1/15 + 1/v
➡ 1/v = –1/10 – 1/15
➡ 1/v = –1/6
➡ v = – 6 cm.
Now, using
➡ h' = v/u × h, we get
➡ h' = –6/(–15) × 2
➡ h' = 0.8 cm
