Solution

Step 1: Converting mixed fractions into improper fractions

Oil in the container =235L

=5×2+35=135L

Ananya put in the container =113L

=3×1+13=43L

Oil left after leakage=234L

=2×4+34=114L

Step 2: Finding the total oil in the container before leakage

Total oil in the container before leakage

=135L+43L=39+2015[LCM(5,3)=15]=5915L

Step 3: Amount of oil leaked

Amount of oil leaked can be found by subtracting amount of oil left after leakage from total oil in container before leakage

=5915L-114L=59×4-11×1560[LCM(15,4)=60]=236-16560=7160L

Hence, amount of oil leaked is 7160L
