Solution

The correct option is A 200 Hz
Modes of vibration of an air column in a closed organ pipe are given by
fnc=(2n+1)v4L where n=1,2,3...
The third harmonic of closed pipe is given by
f3c=3v4L
The modes of vibration of an open organ pipe are given by
fno=nv2L where n=1,2,3...
Fundamental frequency of open organ pipe is
f1o=v2L
According to the question,
f3cf1o=100
3v4Lv2L=100
v4L=100vL=400

Hence, the fundamental frequency of open organ pipe is
f1o=v2L=12(vL)=12×400=200 Hz
