For an organ pipe of length L open at both ends, fundamental frequency is given by

νo=Vλ1=V2L=480 Hz…(i)

For closed pipe of same fundamental frequency, length should be (L)

νo=Vλ2=V4L'…(ii)

For constant λ from (i) and (ii)

L=L2
