An organic compound A (C7H5OCl) on reaction with H2/Pd with BaSO4 gives B and B undergoes disproportionation with NaOH to give C and D. B on reaction with CH3MgBr/H3O+ gives E. Identify the compounds and write their names.

H2/Pd and BaSO4 are used is reduction of acyl chloride to produce aldehyde. This reaction is known as rosenmund reduction.
Benzaldehyde to treatment with NaOH undergoes disproportion to produce one molecule of Alcohol (Benzyl alcohol) and one molecule of Benzoic acid.
Benzaldehyde on treatment with CH3MgBi/H3O+ gives alcohol.
B= Benzaldehyde
A= Benzoyl chloride
C= Benzyl alcohol
D= Benzoic acid.
