Solution

C2H6O is C2H5OH

C2H5OH is ethyl alcohol which on oxidation with K2Cr2O7 produces an aldehyde and on further oxidation a carboxylic acid ethanoic acid is formed.
(O) (O)
C2H5OH===>CH3CHO===> CH3COOH

So X is ethyl alcohol C2H5OH
