Solution

Mass of CO2 formed=0.4655gm
Mass of H2O formed=0.2533gm
Mass of the organic substance taken =0.2115gm
Percentageofcarbon=1244×Mass of CO2Mass of compound×100
=1244×0.46550.2115×100=60.03
Percentage of hydrogen=218×Mass of H2OMass of compound×100
=218×0.25330.2115×100=13.30
Percentage of oxygen=100(60.03+13.30)=26.67
Composition of the substance:=C=60.03%; H=13.30%; andO=26.67%
