Solution

Given:

The capacity of overhead water tanker is in the shape of a cylinder is 61.1 cubic metres

So, the Volume of cylinder =61.6 m3

πr2h=61.6 m3---(1) [Since, the volume of cylinder (V)=πr2h cubic units]

It is given that,

Diameter of the base (d)=5.6 m
Radius(r)=2.8 m

Now, from (1),

πr2h=61.6 m3

227(2.8 m)2h=61.6 m3

227×(2.8 m)×(2.8 m)×h=61.6 m3

22×(2.8 m)×(0.4 m)×h=61.6 m3

22×2810×110×h=61.6 m

h=61.6×10×1022×28 m

h=0.1×5×5 m

h=2.5 m

Hence, height of the cylindrical tank is 2.5 m
