An underwater bubble with radius 0.5cm at the bottom of the tank, where the temperature is 5 c and pressure is 3 atm rises to the surface where the temperature is 25 c. the vapor pressure and the pressure is 1 atm. What will be the radius of the bubble when it reaches the surface?

The moles of air contained in bubble at the bottom of tank as well as on the surface remains same.Thus, n=P1V1RT1=P2V2RT2moles at the bottom of the tank = moles at the surfaceor, 3×(43)π×(0.5)3R×278= 1×(43)πr3R×298or, r= 0.74 cm
