Solution

The correct option is A (i), (ii) and (v)
  • Gas particles move around randomly at high speed due to least interparticle force of attraction, and have greater interparticle spaces as compared to solids and liquids.
  • As the temperature increases, the kinetic energy of the gas particles increases, thus, the rate of diffusion also increases.
  • Liquids and gases can move freely and have a tendency to flow, hence, known as fluids.
  • Gases are highly compressible upon the application of pressure whereas solids are almost incompressible as the interparticle force of attraction is weak in gases but very strong in solids.
  • Due to least interparticle force and largest interparticle spaces, gas particles are free to move rapidly and expand to fill any volume.
