The ​factors which affect the distribution of insolation are as follows:
  • The angle of incidence at which the sun rays fall on earth surface determines the amount of insolation on that area. The maximum i sthe inclination larger is the area that receives sun rays. Vertical sun rays heat minimum land area.
  • The duration of the sun rays falling on the particular area also affects the amount of insolation recieved by the earth. The equatorial regions receives sunshine for maximum period and poles get it for minimum time.
