From 8:00 to 8:30 the duration of the show is half an hour
1 hour = 60 min
1 min = 60 sec
The duration of the show including ads = 30 min
Total duration of ads = 1 min 30 sec + 2 min 45 sec + 45 sec + 1 min 30 sec
To add the duration we need to convert sec into min
= 1 $\frac{30}{60}$ + 2 $\frac{45}{60}$ + $\frac{45}{60}$ + 1 $\frac{30}{60}$
= 1 + 2 + 1 + $\frac{1}{2}$ + $\frac{3}{4}$ + $\frac{3}{4}$ +$\frac{1}{2}$
= 4 + 1 + 1 + $\frac{1}{2}$
= 6 $\frac{1}{2}$ mins

So the actual duration of the show = 30 min - 6 $\frac{1}{2}$ mins
= 24 min - $\frac{1}{2}$ min
= 23 $\frac{1}{2}$ min
