Annelids and Nematodes are bilaterally symmetrical, cylindrical in shape and triploblastic. Yet, these are divided into two groups because of the difference(s) in
Although Annelids and Nematodes have similarities, they exhibit differences in certain aspects.
1. Type of coelom (body cavity) - Annelids have a true coelom, while nematodes have a false coelom (pseudocoelom).
2. Segmentation - Annelids have a segmented body, while nematodes do not.
3. Circulatory system - Annelids have a well-developed closed circulatory system, while nematodes do not have a discrete circulatory system.
These differences indicate that annelids are more complex organisms than nematodes. The number of germ layers is the same for both these groups, because of which they are both described as triploblastic.
