Annelids are similar to Nematodes. They are bilaterally symmetrical, cylindrical in shape and triploblastic. But the differences that put them into two different phyla are:
Annelids and nematodes differ from each other in the type of coelom they possess. Nematodes exhibit a false coelom. so, are called pseudocoelomates. Annelids are the first organisms to have true body cavity or coelom. Annelids also exhibit more complex body organisation and segmentation compared to nematodes. Annelids have a well developed circulatory system which is absent in nematodes.
