Solution

The correct option is C

Photosynthesis will stop

The correct option is C:
The explanation for the correct option:

  1. Hydrilla is a plant growing in the aquatic habitat, found submerged in the water.
  2. They use dissolved carbon dioxide in the water for photosynthesis.
  3. They have adapted to survive in the presence of the minimal amount of sunlight that is necessary for photosynthesis.
  4. Although, grass generally grows in the grassland it has adapted to survive in such environmental conditions.
  5. Grasses do not have the features required to survive underwater.
  6. Thus, if grasses are used to replace an aquatic plant, then photosynthesis will stop completely.

Final answer: Photosynthesis will stop if the Hydrilla is replaced by grass.
