Solution
The two legislative powers of the president of India are-
1. Absolute Veto- the President of India can exercise his right to pocket veto in case of ordinary bill or a bill introduced by a private member in the parliament. Where a bill is an ordinary bill passed by both houses, The President can sit on the bill and exercise his right of absolute veto.
2. Ordinance Making of the President. when the parliament is not in session the President can pass an ordinance which he thinks is urgent and necessary. These ordinances have the same effect as that of an act of the parliament. When the parliament is in session again then these ordinance is laid down before both the houses of Parliament within six weeks of reassembling of the Parliament. If this is not done then, the ordinance becomes invalid.
