Yes, use of kullad in railways is a way of sustainable use of resources. The process by which these kullads are made is simple and it does not contribute towards pollution. These clay cups are biodegradable; so, they do not pollute environment when they are discarded. Thus, Kullads are environment−friendly in all respects. Still they are replaced by paper cups because clay cups absorb some quantity of liquid in them, and secondly, paper cups are cheaper than the clay cups.
