A. Factors :
(I) Friction depends on the nature (smoothness) of surfaces in contact.
(II) Friction depends on the net normal force acting at the surface of contact.
B. Friction is experienced more by the chair which is occupied . Friction is caused by the interlocking of irregularities in the two surfaces. It is obvious that the force of friction will increase if the two surfaces are pressed harder.
