1. One can ensure public health by behaving responsibly at public places; for example, by not strewing litter. Spreading awareness, cooperating with organizations and the government will also contribute towards public health.
2. There are three basic steps to ensure prevention of a disease:
(a) Maintaining public and personal hygiene or maintaining cleanliness at public places or when in contact with people outside the family.
(b) Ensuring that everybody gets access to a sufficient quantity of food, water and shelter. Also, educating the masses is important, as they must know about various diseases and how to prevent them.
(c) Immunizing oneself and any other person possible against commonly encountered diseases.
3. Examples of personal unhygienic habit include urinating in the open, throwing used packets or bottles, spitting betel leaf juice, sneezing with your mouth uncovered, touching other people with unclean hands, etc. All these unhygienic personal habits affect community health.
