  1. If an object has more density than water, it will sink into the water.
  2. While, if an object has less density than water, it will float in/on water.

Answer:

Since the density of the iron nail is greater than the density of water so, it will sink into the water. Similarly, the density of a wooden piece is less than the density of water so, it will float in/on the water.
