1. Sound is produced by a vibrating body. When an object performs rapid to-and-fro motion, the sound is produced.
2. Instruments like guitar, and sitar piano, when their strings are plucked produce sound due to the vibrations of their strings.
3. Percussion instruments like dholak, mridangam, and drum which have tightly stretched membrane is made to vibrate by striking it.
4. The tight skin of these instruments vibrates which produces sound.
