Class 1 levers are those levers in which the fulcrum always lies between the effort and the load.
The fulcrum may or may not lie exactly between the load and effort.
The load and effort will always be in the same direction.
Mechanical advantage is defined as the ratio of load to effort or it can also be defined as the ratio of effort arm to load arm
When effort arm = load arm, M.A = 1,example - physical beam balance.
When effort arm > load arm, M.A > 1,example - shears.
When effort arm < load arm, M.A < 1,example -scissors.
Both mechanical advantage and velocity ratio can have the value of greater than 1, less than 1, or equal to 1 depending upon the length of effort arm and load arm.
Hence, the fulcrum lies in the middle of effort and load in the class 1 lever.
