(a) The different parts of a plant are the roots, stem, leaves, flowers and fruits.

(b) Root hairs are the hair−like fibers which arise from the root tip, and help in the absorption of water from the soil by increasing the surface area.

(c) The small outgrowth containing the embryonic shoot is known as a bud. It appears either on the tip of the stem or at the axil of a leaf.

(d) The tip of the leaf is known as the leaf apex.
