(i) In cyclotron, magnetic field is always ⊥r to the motion of particle and provides necessary centripetal force.

and hence period of revoluation
T=2πrϑ=2πrqrBm
T=2πrqB
∴ cyclotron frequency 1T=qB2πm=ϑ
(ii) Proton Deutron
mass=m mass=2m
charge=q charge=q
∴ϑp=qB2πmϑd=qB2π2(m)==qB4πm
as cyclotron frequency in both case is different hence same oscillator frequency can not be used to accelerate both particle.
