Solution

The postal department provides four types of services:

a. Mail services - Under mail services, letters and parcels are received from people and distributed to the people for whom they are sent. These include post cards, book posts, parcels and telegraphs.

b. Specialised mail services - They are similar to mail services, but they offer extra benefits like faster distribution of mails, certainty in the delivery of letters and parcels and compensation in case of loss or damage to mails during transit. These include UPC, speed post and insured post.

c. Money remittance services - Under money remittance services, the post office transfers money from one place to another. Also, it charges a fee for providing these services. Some examples of these services are money order services, instant money order services and international money transfer services.

d. Retail services - These services are different from the regular services provided by post offices. These include bill mail services, retail post services, e-payment services, etc.
