Indian agriculture is gambling with the monsoon winds. Justify.

• With agriculture being an important part of the Indian economy, many earn their livelihood by growing crops.
• The yield, however, depends on getting the right amount of rain, at the right time. If the monsoons begin too early or are delayed, they adversely affect the crops.
• Similarly, the amount of rainfall is also not constant. Lower than expected precipitation causes crops to wilt while greater than necessary rainfall causes water logging issues.
• In any case, the farmer ends up suffering because the production is not as desired. Thus, we can say that Indian agriculture is gambling with the monsoon winds.
