Solution
Plant:
Plant is a living organism that absorbs water and inorganic substances through its roots and can synthesize its organic food photosynthesis using the green pigment chlorophyll.
Two main systems of the plant are the root system and the stem system: Root system:
The portion of a plant that emerges beneath the plant under the ground is called the root system. The only component is the root
Roots are broadly divided into two groups: taproot and fibrous root
The taproot is characterized by the presence of the main root from which lateral roots emerge, whereas the fibrous root does not have the main root system.
They help with the absorption of water and minerals from the soil through root hairs to the stem and the plant
It establishes firm anchorage with the soil and this leads to fixing plants on the surface of the soil.
Stem system:
The portion of a plant that arises from the ground is called the shoot. system.
The components of shoots are stems, branches, leaves, buds, flowers, and fruits.
Stem is differentiated into nodes and internodes, nodes give rise to leaves and internodes are the spaces between the nodes.
The main function of the stem are providing support to the leaves, conduct water and minerals to the leaves, where they can be converted into usable products by photosynthesis; and transporting this organic food to the various parts of the plant, including the roots.
