Solution

Rhythm method:

  1. The rhythm method is a natural contraceptive method of population control. In this method, previous menstrual cycles are tracked on a calendar and future ovulation dates are predicted.
  2. After menstruation (4 days), the next 5th to 9th days and 19th to 28th will be safe periods.
  3. This method was first proposed by Ogino in 1930.

Effectiveness:

It is an unreliable method and doctors will never suggest this method for contraception as the menstrual cycle may be irregular in some women. Hence, the rhythm method is less effective.
