When the electron falls from third energy level to the second energy level then we find the H-alpha line
i.e.n = 3 to n = 2 is called Balmer-alpha or H-alpha,



For Balmer series, frequency is given by:νc = R122-1n2where ν is the frequency , c is the speed of light, R is rydberg constant.for first line, n = 3ν = Rc122-132ν = 1.097×107×3×1080.25-0.11ν = 0.46×1015 Hz
