Integer are whole numbers which are in negative direction also. On the right side of zero we have positive integers and on the left side of zero we have negative integers.

when we move from right to left the numbers keep decreasing. So when we move to left side from 0 we get numbers in the sequence as -1,-2,-3,-4 and so on and the number appearing in the right of any number is greater, and -17 will be on the left side of -6, so -6 is greater than -17

Hence the statement is False
