Solution

Difference between the larynx and pharynx.

1. The pharynx is found from behind the mouth and continues with the esophagus whilst the larynx is found at the level of C3-C6.

2. The pharynx is part of both the digestive and respiratory systems whilst the larynx is not.

3. The larynx is involved in sound production, breathing, and protection of the trachea from food that is aspirated whilst the pharynx takes no part in all of these except in vocalization.

4. The pharynx continues with the esophagus whilst the larynx is not continuous with any system.

5. The walls of the larynx are made of cartilage whilst the pharynx is made of muscle.

6. The larynx contains the vocal cords and none are found in the pharynx.
