Question

Aperture of a spherical mirror is longer or shorter than its radius of curvature?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
It is kept shorter than the radius of curvature because an aperture much smaller than the radius of the mirror restricts the incoming light to a region where rays do come to a single focal point and hence a more accurate location and well image is obtained.
