1. The Khilafat movement of 1919 was an effort to strengthen the Ottoman Caliph to symbolise unity among the Muslim community in India during the British rule. The prominent leaders who led the Khilafat movement include Shoukat Ali, Muhammad Ali and Abul Kalam Azad.
2. The peasants during the non-cooperation movement demanded for the reduction in land revenue and all other types of cesses that were charged by the landlords and talukdars. The peasants also demanded for the abolition of inhumane practices such as begar, according to which the peasants are forced to work under the landlord without being paid. The peasants also demanded security to their tenure as tenants.
3. It was in the Lahore session of the Indian National Congress, the historic "poorna swaraj" resolution was passed. It was passed in the year 1929 but it was only on 26th January 1930, the Congress has officially adopted the resolution by celebrating this day as Independence day by hoisting the national flag.
