RBCs contain the molecule hemoglobin that is mostly used to carry oxygen.
RBCs contain the pigment Hemoglobin. This pigment binds oxygen with itself and helps transport it to the rest of the body. Note that hemoglobin can also carry a little carbon dioxide but this is not its major function.
