Appu found out that the first bedsheet was fully dry whereas the inner folds of the second bedsheet were still wet. The bedsheets become dry due to evaporation of the water present in them. Evaporation is a surface phenomenon. Thus more the surface area, faster will be the evaporation. The second bedsheet was folded and hence had less surface area exposed.
