According to Gallis if electronegativity of M in a hydroxide (MOH) is more than 1.7 then it will be acidic in nature whereas it will be basic in nature if electronegativity is less than 1.7.
Hence, M1OH will be acidic in nature and M2OH will be basic in nature.
