Question

Are all liquids good conductor of electricity? Why doesn't electricity flow through wood?

Open in App
Solution

Not all liquids are good conductor of electricity. Only those liquids which have free ions can conduct electricity. For example, distilled water doesn't conduct electricity whereas mineral water (with dissolved salts) is a good conductor of electricity.
Wood doesn't have any free electrons, so it's a bad conductor of electricity.
