Bryophytes:

  1. They are non-vascular plants considered the amphibians of the plant kingdom.
  2. Bryophytes are always multicellular, thalloid, or leafy.
  3. They develop from multicellular embryos in which the zygote is surrounded and protected by sterile, nonreproductive cells.
  4. Examples- liverworts, mosses, etc.
